Stingrays Swim Team

The Wildwood Stingrays swim team offers a healthy learning environment in the sport of swimming, sportsmanship and healthy competition in a relaxed, supportive atmosphere.  The team provides summer fun in a family atmosphere. It’s a terrific way to make friends, for both swimmers and their parents.

The ages of our swimmers range from 5 year olds to returning 18 year olds. We offer a training team for beginning swimmers that may be new to competitive swimming in the Lynchburg Aquatic League (LAL).  The training team is a wonderful opportunity for younger children who might not be ready for the swim team but would like to work on their stroke technique and become more proficient in the water.  The training team is a 6 week program, 3 days a week, where children get stroke instruction from experienced coaches.  It is a fun atmosphere and provides an excellent chance for younger children to be part of the team without competing in the swim meets.

The season consists of 6 dual meets, on Monday nights, ending the season with our A & B championship meets.

The regular swim team practices daily Monday thru Friday with the exception of Tuesday and that is held in the evenings.

Heath Grishaw will be returning as Head Coach again this year.
